The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is underway. Well it is for cardholders (from August 4 – 13th card members have early access depending on card member “status” i.e. Icon, Ambassador, Influencer or Insider). For non-card members, sale access opens up on April 19th. For more specific sale info, details on becoming a card member or want to know what status you are click here.
If you know me or follow my blog you know that my style and what I share are clothes that are comfortable, classic, versatile and age appropriate (with a hint of preppy). As an inbetweener (not young, not old…somewhere in between) I value quality, comfort and a good name brand and will pay extra for it when necessary. However, when I can pay less for name brand style, quality and comfort then I always take advantage! That’s why I always shop the annual Nordstom anniversary sale. However, this year I’m not blown away by the sale and don’t have a shopping cart overflowing with bargains. That’s probably due to my distraction with a very busy work week and finishing up the final touches of the kitchen update. Ah well, that is life. But, I did manage to find some time to throw a few deals in my cart. Here’s what’s in my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale shopping cart this year:
I’m wearing a Rails Ellis shirt in red plaid size XS. These shirts are so light and wear really well year round. Many Rails shirts are available in the sale here. AG skinny ankle jeans with fringe hem. One of my favorite pairs of jeans that I wear ALL THE TIME. Have an AG pair in black in my cart here. Frye leather tote newer version here. Not on sale though. Espadrille flats are from Target here and available in small sizes. I also have these and these and wear them all a ton!
In my Nordstrom sale shopping cart
Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite Long Cardigan : Softest sweaters ever. Everything you hear about Barefoot Dreams is true. I really like the bisque color but also eyeing this in “cocoa”. Super comfy, warm and lightweight. This will get a lot of wear.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings : The best selling faux leather pants for a reason. I’ve been looking for these and they are either not on sale or sold out. these leggings stretch but don’t stretch out. I can’t tell you how many leather leggings I’ve returned because of the knees stretching out and gaping. If these are not sold out (again) by the time the sale opens for me (I’m a non-card member) they are mine o mine!
Rails Ellis Cotton Shirt : Classic lightweight cotton shirt. A soft and cozy alternative to my crisp button downs. I own two other Rails Ellis tops (both patterned) and have been looking for it in plain white. Here it is and a great price for this brand too!
AG Legging Ankle Jeans : I have two favorite pairs of jeans. My Madewell Roatrippers and my AG Legging Ankle blue jeans. The AG legging ankle jean is their claim to fame and most popular style. If you are in the market for a nice designer black jean, get these! You will be seeing me styling these black, high waisted cropped jeans this fall with a chambray top or camel sweater.
Tory Burch Carson Leather Tote : An everyday go to tote. Comes in brown and black. Only buy this during the Nordy sale. The savings is incredible.
Blondo Elvina Waterproof Bootie : Completely waterproof bootie. Comes in many color options but the white are speaking to me. They run small so suggest sizing up.
Stuart Weitzman Zuzanna Over the Knee Boots : These are indeed a big splurge. I’ve had my eye on these OTK boots for years. As far as OTK boots go (I’ve done my research) the SW OTK boots stay up the best. Even so, I still haven’t been able to take the plunge. They are in my cart but will probably stay there. I will say these boots are totally worth it if you will wear them a lot. They have a low heel version (not on sale) that I think I would get more wear out of the lower heel version since they are more practical for me personally. For now, these will be staying in my cart but it’s fun to dream.
Barbour Pilton Quilted Jacket : Iconic barbor style lightweight coat. A little preppy (it has a tartan lining!) and something I don’t need but REALLY REALLY want!
Want more? Of course you do!
As I mentioned, I haven’t had a lot of time to really dive into this sale too deeply. Putting detailed sale blogs together can take hours. No time for that this week BUT, some of my blogger friends did and they put together some really great informative Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping blogs.
Stephanie Kruse’ lifestyle blog Krusing Through the Khaos
One of them is my gal pal Stephanie Kruse. Hop over to her blog and give her some clicks and love (and follow her on Instagram too)! Steph is a high energy, cute as a button, super fun mom, wife, blogger (used to be a professional cheerleader and her dance videos are amazing)! She researched and took the time to write a super thorough run through of the sales and also shared her top pics too!
