As the COVID-19 pandemic looms and our societal responsibility is to socially distance ourselves I am doing my part and spending as much time as possible at home. This past weekend I cleaned and organized my closet and swapped out my wardrobe. My closet is small so twice a year I exchange my spring/summer wardrobe for my fall/winter clothes that I keep in storage and vice versa. It also offers the opportunity to purge clothes I don’t wear anymore to make room for new styles. One of the new styles I recently purchased for spring this year is the J Crew pink gingham trench coat. It is a fun preppy twist on a classic coat. Although the pink gingham is adorable, it’s not as versatile as the classic trench coats in tan.
The Classic Trench Coat
Classic trench coats are a perfect choice for this in between season weather. Trench coats are fresh, clean, flattering and never go out of style. It’s the perfect outerwear for tricky seasons in transition. Keeping us warm and dry during inclement weather. A classic trench coat comes in a standard style version. However, over the year’s designers have given us some varying options. Trench coats now come in several colors and patterns. I’m in love with this preppy twist on J Crew’s classic trench in pink gingham! Trench coats can be single or double breasted, have cinch belts or removable hoods and varying kinds of waterproof fabric are available. No matter your style and taste, there is a classic trench for everyone.
Whether your trench coat style is a high-end Burberry or a less expensive designer look-a-like from Old Navy they are all guaranteed to be a trusted coat for all kinds of weather that you will wear for years to come.
