Today is a big rivalry college football game between University of Louisville and University of Kentucky. The Governor’s Cup used to be the first college football game of the season. However, around 6 years ago the rivalry game was moved to the end of the season. Instead of going to the game in August in a blue or red sundress, the weather in November requires much warmer attire. Here is a football Saturday style idea for the big game today.
A couple weeks ago on my Instagram story…
I posted about a first dibs opportunity on some crazy good cyber deals at J Crew (follow @tamiinbetween on Instagram to get the 411 on my favorite store sales and promotions). From that cyber sale, I grabbed the J Crew 1988 roll neck cotton sweater (for only $17.50!), J Crew stretch velvet leggings, a ribbed beanie with faux fur pom pom and a pair of fine ribbed knit glitten gloves. Sneakers were already in my closet. Link for them here. This outfit is perfect for a sporty day at a kids game or practice, running errands, shopping or tailgating. I have to add, these leggings are so versatile. Worn casual here but can easily be dressed up with a nice top for an evening out or with a long sweater to wear to work. So many options to wear these leggings. I think I have an upcoming blog idea!
If you’re looking for an easy, warm and stylish but casual look
try the velvet leggings with a cotton sweater and matching gloves and hat. If your outing is not so casual, the velvet leggings are versatile enough to dress up or down. For today, this outfit is great for tailgating and a rivalry football game in Kentucky. The only thing missing is to throw on team colors with a scarf and jacket. Then I’ll be ready to cheer on the favorite team in style and warmth!
