Recently, I’ve seen Influencers blogging about the next “it” mop that is going to wow me. I’m sure the hefty price tag will be the only thing that wows me. Don’t get me wrong, 6 months ago I probably would have ‘swiped up’ for the wow worthy mop. What’s changed is that I recently learned about the greatest mopping hack. It blows any mop I’ve ever owned out of the water in regards to best bang for the buck with the versatility to clean any floor type. Not only does this hack work on ALL my floors. It costs next to nothing! Now I’m WOWED!
BEFORE THE HACK
I’ve owned every mop toted as the “next greatest cleaning invention” and spent hundreds of dollars on cleaning solutions and devices. I’ve had mops made of sponge, microfiber, cotton and string. Mops that spray, scrape, squeegee, dust, strip, suck, steam, spin and wring. Over the years I’ve found one or two that were OK at cleaning certain types of flooring in the home but never found a mop that transitions throughout my house cleaning all the different types of floors.
THE HACK
The mopping hack works for all different flooring types. It is simple and inexpensive! Can most likely be put together with what is around the house right now. First, I cannot take the credit for this hack. The credit goes to Carolina Sosa who cleans my house. She is the genius who came up with this idea. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out why all my cleaning towels had holes in them. She finally let me in on her secret and said it was OK for me to share!
All you need for this mopping hack is a low end Swiffer type mop like this one HERE or HERE (the plain one without any bells and whistles), a cleaning towel and cleaning solution in a spray bottle. During the COVID-19 pandemic I have been cleaning everything in my home with a 1:5 solution of bleach and water (1 part bleach and 5 parts water) with a squirt of Dawn dish detergent.
