My entire life I’ve always been a DIY’er, tinkerer and project doer. With my penchant for projects I’m fully aware of the bad chemicals, paints, toxins, pollutants and poisons that I’ve unknowingly touched and breathed in over the years. Although I always practice safe handling procedures (wearing gloves and masks when necessary) I know there is risk. To eliminate some of the risk there are two things I ALWAYS stay away from when it comes to my DIY projects. Anything that may contain lead paint and Round Up Weed Killer. Both of which are said to be a carcinogenic to humans (in other words can cause cancer). Sorry, this doesn’t mean you get out of doing that hard work! Instead, I’m sharing a homemade natural weed killer that has no harsh chemicals that actually works! Better yet, it is WAY LESS EXPENSIVE than any weed killing product you will find anywhere. Never buy Round Up Weed Killer again. Stay away from those harsh cancer causing chemicals and go natural!
Avoid these harsh chemicals
Go natural instead - make your own weed killer
Only three ingredients needed!
Just three ingredients to this easy, natural weed killer that you can make yourself! I bet you already even have everything you need to make it in your home!
All you need is:
- 1 gallon Vinegar
- 2 Cups Epson Salt
- 1/4 Cup Dawn Dish Soap (The blue original)
Mix all the ingredients above in a plastic tank sprayer. It will kill anything you spray it on (including grass so be careful!) Spray weeds in the morning after the dew has evaporated. Walk away. Go back after dinner and the weeds will be DEAD! Cheaper than anything you can buy anywhere! Never buy chemical cancer causing weed killer again! This “recipe” comes from the recipe box of my Aunt Janice and Uncle Chris.
Finally, before using any homemade weed killer, make sure that the container is sealed tightly. Once you have found the perfect product for your needs, be sure to keep it stored safely.
