Pet Rescue Dog Tulip in Wheelchair Foster

Special Needs Foster Dog Tulip’s First Walk

Cover Girl

Tulip’s cover on the Paw Street Journal (the magazine of the KY Humane Society) and featured article about her journey (on page four).  Article about Tulip getting her new pink wheelchair fitted just for her thanks to the KY Humane Society’s supporters and donations.  Read the full story and watch the video of special needs foster dog Tulip’s first walk here.

The look on my face in this article picture makes me laugh.  It was taken the moment I saw this sweet girl for the first time.  My face shows exactly what I was feeling at the time.  Which was, “how could someone just abandon this life on the street like this?”  I was in between crying and feeling so happy that the KY Humane Society found her.  The KHS helped place her into foster while waiting for the custom wheelchair to be made.  Our family fostered Tulip for a few weeks while KHS was fundraising for and getting her adjusted to her new wheelchair.  Thanks to many donations and support, she quickly adapted to her new chair.  Happily, Tulip found her forever home with a wonderful family of four (with two little girls to love on her all day).
