Red plaid shacket

THE SHACKET

Due to COVID and quarantine, my fancy “going out” duds were quickly replaced with my fancy “staying in” duds which basically consist of mostly leisure attire and athletic wear.  Lately, things have slowly started to open back up but I still have my feet firmly planted in casual-land for my daily attire.  That doesn’t mean I can’t look polished and put together though!   As an inbetweener (not young, not old…somewhere in between) I like to be comfy but I never let my casual turn into dowdy, plain or drab.  Currently, one of my favorite go-to items for fall that perfectly blends loungewear with every day wear is the shacket.  The shacket is a hybrid between a shirt and a jacket.  Plus it’s a perfect piece for fall weather in Louisville where we are having a lot of inbetweener weather (not hot, not cold but somewhere inbetween – (see how I tied that together ha ha)).  Here are a few reasons why I love The Shacket this time of year and so will you!  :

  • Adaptable – So easy to wear dressed up or down
  • Great layer piece – As the temps get cooler it can easily be layered over a chunky sweater
  • Dress it up – Belt it for a more polished look or hang loose for a casual vibe
  • Versatile – Can wear with trousers, jeans, leggings or even sweats!
  • Comfy – an inbetweener style must!
