The Northwood Calliger Tilt Out Cabinet is a home run purchase for so many reasons! It’s a classy looking cabinet (some assembly required) that can be used many ways around the house. It comes in different color options and measures 19.5″ wide x 13″ deep x 35.5″ tall (slightly lower than countertop height) making it easy to fit into anyone’s home space and style. I am ecstatic about all the ways I have used this cabinet in my home.
Packaging and Assembly
The cabinet was delivered well packed, double boxed with foam and cardboard padding. There was no damage to any pieces upon inspection after unpacking. The cabinet is made from engineered wood and bamboo and is approximately 40 pounds in weight. The cabinet does require assembly. I am a seasoned DIY’er and have a lot of experience assembling furniture and other home items. Instructions were clear and concise. The assembly process took me one hour from unboxing to finished product.
The Versatility
Trash Can
One way to use the tilt out cabinet is to hide ugly trash receptacles. It can be placed in the kitchen or pantry for a seamless look. Have dogs that get into the trash? Not anymore when you use this cabinet to store the garbage can in. The drawer provides extra storage and another surface area perfect for writing out the week’s grocery list!
Blanket & Pillow Storage
The cabinet can be used for many storage purposes and functions. It really goes in every room of the house and with its design (comes in many colors) is a useful addition to the home. Shown here it is being used in this corner of the sun room with pretty décor on top. Inside is a stash of extra blankets and pillows to keep the clutter to a minimum! Love it!
Laundry Room Hamper
Another room in the house that gets messy quick with growing piles of dirty clothes is the laundry room. With this tilt out cabinet you can hide dirty laundry and no one will ever know you missed laundry day!
Dog Food Storage
This may be my personal favorite use of the tilt out cabinet in my home. This is how I am currently using it and where it sits in my home. The perfect container for dog food storage. The tilt out cabinet fits a 13 gallon plastic insert that we filled with a 30# bag of dog food (insert and scoop purchased separately). The tilt out storage makes feeding Gus quick and easy. Plus, the drawer provides easy access and storage of his dental chews. The cabinet has been placed next to a side door exit/entrance sand with a decorative bowl on top of the cabinet makes a catchall for car keys! Perfection!
As you can see the tilt out cabinet is versatile, functional and pretty and has my full endorsement. Whenever I can find furniture that can be used multiple ways AND provides the functionality of hiding clutter that is a big WIN in my book. Reminder that the cabinet is free standing and when filled it is easily tippable so you must make sure you anchor to a wall wherever you choose to use it in your home (hardware included). Assembly is required and not difficult (moderate to moderately-easy assembly).
