A visit to the dermatologist last week resulted in me getting a LIP FLIP. What’ is a Lip Flip you ask? Great question considering it’s a fairly new procedure that is meant to give a person fuller lips. It’s not a filler procedure but instead a quick and straightforward procedure of getting 4-6 units of Botox injected around the upper and lower lips (ask dermatologist for how much and exact location of Botox needed for desired results). In my case, I have a non-existent upper lip and thin lower lip therefore, it was recommended by my dermatologist to get 4 units of Botox along my upper lip and two along the bottom lip.
A Lip Flip is both conservative and temporary. The results last 4-5 weeks and the appearance of a poutier fuller lips is very subtle. How it works is by having Botox injected in areas around your lips that relax the muscles around your mouth which “flips” the lips upward and downward.

The above picture taken in parking lot of dermatologist office waiting for my appointment. I had just posted on my IG story asking people via a poll if anyone had gotten a Lip Flip (94% said NO)! In my appointment I asked many questions (I did not want projection, wanted subtle and temporary results). Dermatologist answered them to my liking so I decided to go ahead and give the LIP FLIP a try!
The dermatologist said it would take 5-7 days to see the full results of the Lip Flip. I decided to do a 7 day review on how it looked and felt post LIP FLIP. Day 1 post Lip Flip no change in looks or feeling.
48 hours post lip flip and still no change in looks or feeling.
Day 3 results were that I could not see any changes but started to feel some changes. On day 3 there was a very slight tingling numbness in both lips.
Day 4 and definitely starting to see a little fullness taking place.
Day 5 and results are subtly happening. A slight pout and hoping my top lip catches up to my bottom lip!
Day 7 and I’m thrilled with the Lip Flip results. I will definitely do a Lip Flip again. It is customizable therefore, next time I may ask the dermatologist to try for more volume on the top lip next time around.
I am also very pleased that the Lip Flip gives your lips fullness but not projection. This was a very important factor that I wanted to make sure of. I didn’t want duck lips! Pics above depict 5 days post Lip Flip and no change at all in the projection of the lips. Hooray!
