CHINOISERIE DECOR

Bold. Elegant. Colorful.  Three reasons why I love chinoiserie pottery and decor.  Pronounced sheen-waa-zr-ee which is French for Chinese inspired design, art and decor.  It’s understatedly bold, provides a pop of intense color (I love the blue and white together) and it works well with just about any existing decor.  It adds to any room design with its layers and texture.  I see chinoiserie inspired ginger jars at Home Goods for under $25 frequently.  A great price so grab them when you can!  Chinoiserie decor is beautiful for inside or outside your home and it goes just about anywhere you put it.  Here are other reasons why it is great!

Bold

Chinoiserie is bold, iconic and chic.  It is easy to decorate with because blue and white is a straightforward contrast that goes with anything and everything!  Whether you use a rounded ginger jar in your decor, a beautiful bowl , ceramic ball or a planter, you’ll find these decorative bold accents add charm and elegance to any space in your home.

Elegant

Chinoiserie has layers.  Layers of pattern, texture and color that goes with just about anything.  Mix the patterns with floral wallpaper to graphic leopard print pillows.  Or, bring in the elegant blue and white ceramics with any room theme and decor. The patterns are bold but work in most decor because the patterns find a way to relate to each other through color (almost everything goes with blue).  When mixing different scales and mixing geometric with floral balance the patterns just work out somehow.

Colorful

Blue and white is the most common color palette of chinoiserie (although not exclusive).   The color in the ceramics is defined by bright bursts of intense color that distinguishes the decor style. Chinoiserie chic interiors are often bright and airy with pops of vibrant color or intense combinations of contrasting colors.  Can’t figure out what your room is missing?  Try adding one or two pieces of chinoiserie decor to your room to give it that missing element of chic elegance!
